Community shares match funding available as part of capital grant programme
A community shares matching fund is one of a series of themes announced by the Social Investment Business (SIB) as part of this year’s £3m capital grants programme made available by Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) to support early stage community ventures looking to buy or manage a building for the community or deliver a local service.
Starting today, capital grants of between £100,000 and £500,000 are available to organisations ready to take the next step in acquiring a local asset. The community shares matching programme will aim to match funds raised directly from communities undertaking a share offer for the purpose of acquiring, developing or refurbishing land or buildings.
Organisations interested in applying for a Community Assets and Services Grant should contact the Community Rights Advice Service at mycommunityrights.org.uk or call 0845 345 4564 to assess their suitability.
Further information on the criteria for funding is also available now. The deadline for applications is Thursday 26th June 2014.
