Community Shares Scotland works alongside many other organisations to ensure you receive the support you need. All of the following bodies may potentially offer complementary assistance around community ownership, community enterprise and community investment.

Development Trusts Association Scotland: Through the provision of information, resources and a variety of direct contact, DTA Scotland assists interested communities explore the benefits and relevance of the development trust approach.

Community Ownership Support Service: The Community Ownership Support Service is a Scottish government funded programme, set up to help community-based groups in Scotland to take on land or building assets for their community.

Plunkett Foundation: The Plunkett Foundation helps rural communities take control through enterprise and asset ownership. They offer advice and resources on a wide range of topics, including community pubs, shops and all sorts of rural community enterprises and services.

Cooperatives UK: Co-operatives UK is the national trade body which campaigns for co-operation and works to promote, develop and unite co-operative enterprises. It provides a range of services to new and existing co-operatives, including information on the co-operative form, registration support, legal advice and governance tools.

Social Investment Scotland: Social Investment Scotland (SIS), in collaboration with Community Shares Scotland, now provides loans to organisations raising funds through a community share offer. This will enable organisations to progress their projects in the event that the share offer does not raise sufficient funds. Or to access finance if there is a delay in launching a community share offer.

Supporters Direct: Supporters Direct is the leading organisation working with and promoting community owned sports clubs. Whether professional, semi-professional or amateur, it can help sports club realise their potential through better engagement with stakeholders or by becoming truly community owned.
