Community Shares Wales works alongside many other organisations to ensure you receive the support you need. All of the following bodies may potentially offer complementary assistance around community ownership, community enterprise and community investment.

Wales Co-operative Centre: Community Shares Wales is delivered by the Wales Co-operative Centre. The centre also works to create a better, fairer, more co-operative Wales through a mixture of projects that support social businesses, tackle poverty and increase inclusion.  

Development Trusts Association Wales: The DTA Wales is an independent practitioner based membership organisation promoting the work of and supporting the growing network of community owned and led organisations. 

Plunkett Foundation: The Plunkett Foundation helps rural communities take control through enterprise and asset ownership. They offer advice and resources on a wide range of topics, including community pubs, shops and all sorts of rural community enterprises and services.

Cooperatives UK: Co-operatives UK is the national trade body which campaigns for co-operation and works to promote, develop and unite co-operative enterprises. It provides a range of services to new and existing co-operatives, including information on the co-operative form, registration support, legal advice and governance tools.

Social Investment Cymru, Welsh Council for Voluntary Action: Social Investment Cymru is part of Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) and has for the past 10 years been financially supporting social enterprises in Wales with a range of financial products.

Coalfields Regeneration Trust: The Coalfields Regeneration Trust has been actively working in Wales since 1999, investing more than £16 million in community regeneration over the last 14 years.

Welsh Government's Local Energy Service: The Welsh Government's Local Energy Service provides financial and technical support to help social enterprises and SMEs across Wales to develop their own renewable energy schemes.

Supporters Direct: Supporters Direct is the leading organisation working with and promoting community owned sports clubs. Whether professional, semi-professional or amateur, it can help sports club realise their potential through better engagement with stakeholders or by becoming truly community owned.
